To our Airport Impressions Friends,

Hope you’re all well.

We have come to our last newsletter closing off such a fantastic year. 2010 was the year in which the band worked to surpass the pressures and expectations that the previous achievements have placed upon us. In brief we are going to give a resume of what we’ve been through.

• After almost concluding our songwriting sessions, it was in February 2010 when we started recording the album ‘Minutes of a Lifetime’ which was eventually released in October.

• May 2010, ‘The Air We Breathe’, a song from the EP released last year was chosen for a promo video shot in collaboration of ‘Manchester United TV’ in May 2010.

• In June 2010 we released our first single from the album in parallel with the recording work, ‘Walk with Me’. This single once again received an impressive feedback from radio stations and local music lovers and spent three weeks at no.1 on Malta’s Top Ten.

• ‘Walk With Me’ brought along the release of our first professional music video in July 2010 produced and directed by Jean Pierre Gatt.

• Summer 2010 will also be remembered for the performances we gave at Earth Garden and the Great Farsons Beer Festival.

• Recording of the album was finalised around September 2010 and an official release date was set for October 2010.

• The beginning of October saw the release of another single from the album. ‘Freedom’ was  yet another stepping stone towards the success of the album and it also made it to number one on Malta’s Top Ten and

• ‘Minutes of a lifetime’, a collection of twelve tracks from alternative to mainstream rock was released on the 22^ndof October with a fully packed launch gig at Tattingers club.

Following all this, with your help and support we managed to get a complete clean sweep at the Bay Music Awards by winning Best Band, Best Song (Walk With Me) and also the new Bay Presenters’ choice award. This treble has made us the first band to win the Best Band award for two consecutive years, i.e. 2009 and 2010.

However, the year is not over yet and more is yet to come. Our next single will be out in the coming days!!!. ‘Elusive’, a song sending a message to those who for their various problems decide to take a ‘numb’ approach towards life. The message is to hold on hope and let your breathing space shine.

Our next live and electric gig will be held on the eve of 2011 at Pjazza it-Tokk, Rabat Gozo. This is a public event and is open for all. We started our 2010 there last year and will surely close it off with a bang so we are looking forward to celebrate with you there once again.

Airport Impressions

To our pleasure we would like to inform out fans that we have been nominated for this years edition of the Malta Music Awards and Bay Music Awards. Nominations are as follow :

The awards will be held onSaturday 27th November, 2010 at the Malta Fairs and Convention Centre, Ta’ Qali.

Also we would like to announce that we are nominated for this year’s Bay Music Awards. Nominations are as follow

• Best Band
• Best Song

The Bay Music Awards will be held on the 12th of December at the Bay Arena.

We will also give a performance of one of our singles on both nights.

Airport Impressions

Airport Impressions, the five time local award winning act are to release their highly anticipated debut album on October 22. The new album, ‘Minutes of a Lifetime’, will feature a collection of 12 tracks ranging from alternative to pop rock, and soulful melodies .
It also includes the massive hit released earlier this year ‘Walk with Me’ and a re-mastered album version of the hit single and best song for 2009 “Borderline”.

Howard Keith, who produced the album ‘Minutes of a lifetime’ at Jagged House Studios, said “The band members , Errol, Johann, Chris and Steve, have shown a lot of commitment and artistic capabilities which I’m sure will push them to new heights, both as writers and as performers. Looking back to the complete album listing, I see a lot of maturity, depth and intelligence in these songs.”

The album is currently being printed at the Sony Plant in Belgium.

Singer/ Songwriter Errol Sammut added: ‘The album was a musical journey, through song writing, challenging the songs, preparing demos and the actual studio recording itself which we started back in March this year. Needless to say we are very happy with the result’.

The launch of the album will be held at the Tattingers Club in Rabat on Friday, October 22, where the band will be performing a Live set from the album and some other hits.
Special guests on the night will be ‘ No Snow No Alps’ . DJ Nathan D will be kicking off the night with an Alternative Rock set and DJ Gianni will be hosting the event . Doors open at 21:00 and the event is sponsored by Cisk Export Premium Lager.
